About
Kirsty
I hold a Level 4 diploma in person centred counselling and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have further experience offering trauma therapy, which allowed me to develop a robust ability to hold a wide range of presenting issues. The way I work has developed into a more directive approach, using an integrative set of tools - with a strong foundation in the person centred approach.

Person-centred therapy works with the idea that the client is the expert in themselves and their life. The therapist’s role is to metaphorically walk alongside the client, rather than lead from the front. The aim is to provide a safe space, allowing a person the opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings – without judgement and without advice. Those words will be heard, held, and respected.

When starting the counselling process, someone is starting that journey of being curious of who they are; exploring patterns in behaviour and developing understanding of where those patterns come from.

This journey does not have a finish line, so I do not sit in the counsellor’s chair as someone who has ‘completed’ their work. I sit there as an advocate for the process and true believer in the change that can be achieved.

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs – short term, long term, goal orientated or taking it week by week. Maybe you know specifically what you would like to work on. Maybe you just need space to offload. The counselling experience is as unique as the person engaging in it.

What to Expect
I offer a free 20 minute consultation via phone or zoom, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and find out if I am the right counsellor for you.

I offer online or telephone sessions to anyone within the UK. I also offer face to face sessions in Tonbridge, Kent. Sessions are 50 minutes.

The first session is used to start the conversation of what has bought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from the process and what you may need from me as your counsellor. Throughout the duration of working together, I ensure there are regular reviews. This allows for a discussion to identify progress made so far, further areas to work on and any change in goals for the therapy.

I'm incredibly grateful for Kirsty. In just a few months, she has helped me understand myself deeply and embark on a journey of self-healing, compassion, and acceptance.

She guided me in shedding layers of judgment and unrealistic expectations I have set myself from early childhood, leading to a profound transformation in my life. I feel that I now experience true happiness and contentment. As Kirsty says, this is a long process, a long journey rather than a destination, and I have learnt some tools to bring me back onto the right path, when habits take over again at times.

She guides me as a woman, a mother, a daughter and a partner.

If you're seeking a therapist who can truly change your life, I wholeheartedly recommend Kirsty.

Kirsty listens fully and helps me to articulate my thoughts and emotions. She’s able to steer conversations and pivot on topics if I want to.
She offers insights and guidance in an empathetic and tailored way. I look forward to our sessions every week and I can’t express how much she’s helped me.

I have been working with Kirsty for the past six months, and as my first ever therapist, she has made a significant positive impact on my journey. Starting therapy was something I found very daunting, but Kirsty eased me into it with her warm and approachable demeanor.
She made me feel incredibly comfortable from the very beginning, which was essential for me as I often struggle with expressing myself. Kirsty has a remarkable ability to help me explore and understand the thoughts and feelings that lie beneath the surface.
Her friendly, non-judgmental ear has been invaluable during a particularly challenging time in my life. I am deeply grateful for her support and the fresh perspectives she offers, which have helped me gain a better understanding of myself. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, and Kirsty truly creates a safe space for personal growth and reflection.
I highly recommend Kirsty to anyone considering therapy; she is an exceptional therapist who genuinely cares about her clients' well-being.
